Shallow happiness

It comes and goes at a drop of a hat and leaves us craving more.

It brightens the day and makes stars appear at night

A hazy mist and the shining daylight 

It wraps it arms around like you like it will never leave 

Its the relationship that you were waiting for 

Or the job that would make you whole

Its the book that never ends 

And its the friend thats ever faithful

Its the skin that never wrinkles 

And its the ray that keeps the dark away

And then its gone -with the blink of an eye...Shallow happiness.

Its selfish and seizes up every emotion

It makes you feel so complete

It comes and then it goes like it was never yours to keep

Shallow happiness you make us wonder -when will you come again?

Its like the glistening candle that burns at both ends

Its like the water that keeps a puddle alive 

It gives us hope and endless pleasure and makes everything so intense

Shallow happiness? I dont understand -will you ever be the final destination?
