Figment of their imagination

There was a time when it was right It was somewhere in the beginning When things were new and unexplored There was a time when it was right When listening was enjoyed And patience was so much easier There was a time when it was right When spending time was enjoyable And not having enough of it was so hard There was a time when it was right When the journey seemed to have been worth it And seeing them made it believable There was a time when it was right together they were stronger And they could handle anything There was a time when it was right That time came and went so quick like the burning of a candle wick. There was a time when it was right but that time has passed Two paths have gone their seperate ways There was a time when it was right Perhaps they didnt listen Perhaps they lost their chance Perhaps the time was never right but a mere figment of their imagination.

Ghost writing for a GP - one of my many talents!

I helped a GP write an article for a magazine they wanted to get published in. If you'd like help with any content do give me a shout.  https://bjgplife.com/the- doctor-will-see-you-now/  The Doctor will see you now is a book worth reading. Dr Amir Khan deep dives into the recent headlines covered by newspapers across the country highlighting ‘’Doctors suffering ‘wave of abuse’ over lack of face-to-face appointments’’ (telegraph) or ‘’Face-to-face GP visits still near lockdown levels’’ (BBC) and ‘’PM Boris Johnson warns NHS GPs that thousands will ‘suffer’ without face to face appointments’’ (daily mail). The intense pressure us GPs are constantly facing can at times feel like a landslide ready to take us under.   The book would help any non-medical person get an in-depth view into an NHS GP’s highs and lows. The book is well written and keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. As a professional GP myself, I struggle with time for my own hobbies let alone read...

The King’s Favourite   Winner of the “Park & Write Competition, Theme for 2020: The Adventures of Erle and Harper, The Victoria Park Stags” Written December 2020 Copyright 2021   The sun was setting in Ashford’s, Victoria Park and the iron beasts shone in the dim light on both sides of Hubert fountain. As the real world was getting ready to sleep the magical world was starting to wake up. Suddenly, fairies appeared and flew down to circle the cast iron stags on both sides of the fountain. The fairy Queen landed on their magnificent antlers. She examined the creatures and knew they would make perfect gifts for the fairy King.   She instructed her fairies to entice the King by only delivering the antlers to him first. The fairy army men and women giggled as they set about the task of unhinging the two stag’s magnificent antlers. They wrapped them up in gold silk and left a sprinkling of fairy dust on the heads of each stag.   The next...

I won a local story competition in 2021 but never got around to posting it here . The story is to follow. It won but the local council I wrote it for never ran the campaign they were going to unfortunately. The idea was going to be to have celebrities read out the stories on their Youtube channel. I think with Covid and all the idea never got any airtime. My name is below for your viewing pleasure. As most of you know I love to write but life does get in the way and before you know it months and years have passed in the blink of an eye.
